CVS REBRANDING SIGNAGE PROJECT

The Challenge

Following a successful six-month rebranding of more than 1,800 Target store pharmacies to CVS Health, the CVS team turned once again to Pratt Visual Solutions, a Vomela company, to begin the process of rebranding their 8,000+ retail locations with new interior and exterior graphics.

Between project management, design, creative, and inventory management, the challenge was keeping the complicated schedule on track. This required strong organizational skills and ongoing, transparent communications.

The Solution

Working directly with CVS Marketing and RISD, Pratt developed 250+ décor items including printable art, specification sheets and installation guides. After completing 2 prototype stores Pratt quickly ramped up production to execute over 500 projects in 6 months. This included all store take-offs, store specific BOM’s, wallcovering square footage requirements, as well as coordinating surveys and installs with the General Contractor within an agreed upon timeline. Upon successful completion of installations Pratt uploaded all close out documentation to CVS systems.

The new branding package includes more structural elements with a focus on fabrication, router cut letters, and assembly, all of which are a specialty of Pratt. The new interior package encompasses 30 to 250 different items based on the store size and layout, including:

• Perimeter signage for beauty, health, food, and beverage

• Pharmacy signage and wall coverings

• Aisle markers and inserts

• Shelf-level signage through the store

• Directional signage

• Healthy food area signs and graphics

Wallcoverings

In addition to development and manufacturing, Pratt installed waiting area, healthy foods, perimeter woodgrain wallcovering and dimensional letters for this program. The project remodel schedule was 3 weeks from start to finish and the wallcovering was the last to be installed.

To ensure a seamless execution Pratt worked directly with CVS preferred General Contractors to schedule and complete surveys during week 1. The survey results were then compared to the store elevations to guarantee the correct amount of wallcovering was delivered to each location. During the final week of the remodel, Pratt installed the wallcovering in coordination with General Contractors who prepped the wall.

Pratt successfully completed all store specific installs based on short window of opportunity prior to the Remodel Grand Opening dates.
