ON CAMPUS DINING UPDATES AT UNIVERSITY OF FLORIDA

The Challenge

When Chartwells Higher Education was helping the University of Florida with an update of their on-campus dining services, they turned to Pratt Visual Solutions for a fresh and modern look. With a tight timetable and 20 separate spaces for students to dine or purchase meals, this was no small task. They needed a cohesive look for all of the dining spaces, from the dining halls and food court to the grab-and-go markets.

They trusted Pratt with this project after having several smaller successful projects with them and witnessing their knowledge of working in on-campus dining spaces.

The Solution

The University’s graphics had not been updated in over 8 years. This meant there was a build up of cooking and dining residue that needed to be cleaned and addressed before we were able to install any pieces. Once everything was fixed, prepped, and ready to go, Pratt had to ensure the materials installed and methods used would stand the test of time in these high-traffic, high-mess areas. Vomela’s design team tackled these issues and created an incredible visual experience at the same time.

Here’s a list of the types of graphics we installed throughout the dining spaces:

• Vinyl window graphics
• Vinyl wall wraps
• Cut vinyl lettering
• Vinyl applied to tile and concrete
• Column graphics
• Acrylic mounted signs
• Hanging signs and banners
• Magnetic drink dispenser signs
• Cooler signs
• Dimensional lettering and signs
• Illuminated signs

The Result

Using the Vomela network, Pratt enlisted C2 Houston for help in production and installation. With their help, this sizable project was completed: 20 separate areas were updated with 30 different designs. The University loves the new design of their spaces and is continuing to work with Pratt to update other areas on-campus.
